Ways to Pay For Your Teaching Degree in 2021

Choosing to become a teacher is a vocation thousands of people choose to pursue at some point in their working life. Whether you are a high school student looking to start a teaching career or changing path in mid-life, teaching offers a rewarding experience. Noodle reports a career in teaching is rewarding on a personal level without providing a hefty wage packet. Taking the time to create a plan for paying for college will help you save money throughout your studies.

1. Apply for Scholarships

The education sector is a difficult one in the 21st-century, with millions of teachers drowning in student loan debt. Colleges and universities offer scholarships but finding private scholarships are a positive option. Receiving a $1,000 scholarship in return for an essay submitted to the Nancy Etz Scholarship lessens the impact of paying for a teaching course.

2. Federal Grants are Available

There are several options available for student teachers to explore offered by the federal government. The traditional Pell Grants for Post-Baccalaureate Teacher Certificate for Licensing Programs and add to the funding available for students. The Pell Grants are available for students enrolled in teaching programs who meet the income requirements.

Another option open to student teachers is TEACH grants that provide funding if the student completes four years of teaching after graduation. TEACH grants require student teachers to work in low-income neighborhoods teaching specific subjects. In return for accepting a role in a low-income region, the recipients of these grants have their debt wiped clean.

3. Attend Community College

A growing trend among students is to seek a less expensive college experience by attending community college. Local colleges allow students to complete two years of college education, with a bridging program taking them to a four-year program. The cost of a college education has expanded over the last few years and continues to become more expensive, with two years of community college lowering the overall cost by thousands of dollars. President Joe Biden has begun the process of eliminating the cost of community college for all students to make this a popular option for all.

4. Work-Study Programs

Students are looking for different ways of avoiding student loans, including taking on work-study roles at a higher education institution. Work-study positions are available at most colleges and provide a mix of tuition costs and wages for students who qualify. These positions offer low wages but do provide a positive way of attending school without being reliant on student loans.

5. Compare School Costs

Schools around the U.S. have the right to charge what they see fit to educate the next generation of teachers. Student teachers need to compare the cost of attending school at specific institutions to make sure they get the best deal for their education. Forbes reports saving can reach the thousands when different schools are compared for undergraduate and postgraduate courses.

Paying for college can give students sleepless nights and cause concern for their families. The pandemic is causing changes to every sector, with education no different.

4 Important Facts About Law School Every Student Should Know About

Many students begin law school as naive freshmen, ready to learn as much as possible about the law. However, there are a few things about law school itself that students should know prior to arriving for their first day of school. If you’re gearing up for law school or you’re currently enrolled as a law student, you’ll want to make sure you know these facts:

Focus on Your 1L Grades

One fact that law students shouldn’t forget is that their 1L grades are incredibly important. In law schools, students are ranked by GPA every semester. In this ranking system, a curve grading scale is used to match the school’s predetermined number of grades. Students with the lowest level grades may be pushed down a grade level based on this curve grading. Students that hope to survive such a tough grading scale need to focus on achieving the highest possible scores early on in their law school careers.

In addition to studying hard for all your classes, be sure to take advantage of any extra credit a teacher may offer. Many classes in law school do offer students participation points, so be sure to jump into class discussions on a regular basis.

Law Isn’t a “Get Rich Quick” Industry

While some law students pursue a legal career because they genuinely love the law, others are under the impression that this field will help them earn money quickly. However, this couldn’t be further from the truth. According to a Pasco criminal defense attorney, students should be prepared to work just as hard in their first few years as lawyers as they did when they were students in law school.

To have a successful career in the legal field, you’ll have to work for everything you earn. Whether you’re attracting new clients as a self-employed attorney or you’re putting in billable hours for your legal firm, no lawyer is guaranteed a successful career if they don’t put in the hard work necessary to get there.

You Need to Build a Brand to Succeed

mikeglaw

Law students often believe that all they need is a strong grasp of the law to start their careers as attorneys. While an understanding of the law is essential, lawyers also need to build a brand for themselves as well. Your character, personality, and work ethic are all facets of this brand. Make sure you qualify for the best possible job after law school by clearly establishing your identity as an attorney by the time you pass the bar and graduate.

Build Relationships in Law School

Law school is undoubtedly competitive, but you shouldn’t let this cutthroat mindset stop you from making friends and building relationships. In law school, you’ll start building your circle of friends, colleagues, and mentors that you can rely on in the future for recommendations and potential job opportunities. Make sure you’re able to take advantage of these connections later by investing in these relationships now.

The more you familiarize yourself with the important facts about law school, the better equipped you will be to handle your law student responsibilities. Make sure you’re law school experience is as positive as possible by keeping these four facts in mind.

4 Ways Student Loan Advocacy Is Making A Difference

Julie-Queler

Debt cancellation can give students a new lease on life. In 2008, Wall Street Banks enjoyed debt cancellation, but what about students? The student loan debt crisis is worsening.

Did you know that the student loan delinquency rate is 10 x times that of mortgage delinquency? The dismal job market has made it nearly impossible for graduates to find good jobs and pay off their student loans. Julie Queler – learn the 4 ways that Student Loan Advocacy is making a difference.

Knowledge Made America

George Washington Carver, Thomas Edison and Jeff Bezos are examples of American inventors, who changed the world. Through education, the most gifted can create valuable products and services, which will lead to incorporation. Thereafter, companies will employ workers and the entire community will benefit.

According to Forbes, 44 million American student loan debtors owe $1.5 trillion with a delinquency rate of 10.7%. Compare that to the 1.1% US average for mortgage delinquency (based on June 30, 2018 statistics) and you might begin to comprehend the gravity of the situation.

Knowledge is one of the inputs for productivity. America cannot be great without an educated population. Here are 4 ways that student loan advocacy is making a difference:

  • Availability
  • Cost
  • Qualification
  • Educated Population

America’s education advantages are being threatened by the student loan debt crisis.

Availability

Just as financing has increased home ownership, it has also increased college graduation rates. Some students simply cannot afford college, neither can their parents.

If Wall Street bankers can have their debt cancelled, why not students? Canceling student debt would be even better than the 2008 bail out because this time, all classes would benefit.

Cost

There have always been personal education loans. The problem has been the cost for repayment. Government loan programs have lowered the cost of repayment dramatically. Now, the student debt crisis threatens to make education unaffordable.

And, if this continues, then there will be a trickle-down effect. Fewer students means that fewer professors and administrators will be needed. Student Loan Advocacy not only benefits students, but professors and administrators.

Qualifications

The wealthy can always afford college, but what about the poor? Inventors are not always children of the rich. Wise Americans have made education available to the most talented.

Scholarships have ensured that the poor can also enjoy the benefits of education. Public and private loans have ensured that student qualification is equitable. All Americans have equal access to education.

Educated Population

Naturally, an educated population will be more productive. Mechanics, plumbers, doctors and all of those with skills can improve the lives of all Americans. Small business owners increase the American Gross National Product (GNP).

Philanthropists need to have a caring heart, so they can empathize with the downtrodden. Heretofore, Julie Queler has demonstrated her compassion and effective methods in helping individuals succeed. Now, she is tackling Student Loan Advocacy, Reform and Restructuring. If America does not invest in its future, then it might not have much of a future.

Julie Queler’s Student Loan Advocacy can provide much-needed relief to the inventors, executives and leaders of tomorrow. All Americans should unite in continuing to keep education affordable. Make America great again through Student Loan Advocacy, Reform and Restructuring.

The Simple Strategy To Achieving Your Health Goals

Maintaining good health is a goal everyone should strive for, but different factors can make achieving that challenging. It’s easy to develop unhealthy habits, which is why so many people struggle in the first place. All hope is not lost, however. By making simple lifestyle changes and adopting new habits, leading a long and healthy life remains a possibility for anyone. Along the way, getting advice from experts such as Dr. Summit Shah and other medical professionals will help as well. To further simplify matters, maintaining good health can be done by making changes in three lifestyle aspects.

Exercise for Great Health Now and Later

Achieving any health goal – no matter how basic or ambitious – would be impossible without the aid of exercise. The human body is a machine, and it needs to remain active or else it will function poorer later on.

The National Institute on Aging highlights four ways for people to remain active through different types of exercise.

Endurance exercises such as jogging, swimming, and even cycling help people increase their stamina. Having more stamina means having more energy to carry out tasks necessary for an active lifestyle even into old age. Strength exercises focus on keeping muscles strong and capable of supporting people as they grow older. They don’t need to be elaborate too. Simple activities that target specific muscle groups can work wonders.

Exercises that are meant to improve balance may not seem important for younger people, but they will pay off eventually. Maintaining good balance aids with mobility in old age. It also comes in handy for avoiding nasty spills that can lead to injury. In keeping with the health goal of remaining mobile in old age, stretching is a must. Sensible stretching is advised and doing so regularly makes performing everyday tasks significantly easier.

Improve Your Eating Habits

Dr-Summit-Shah

Exercising regularly cannot be as beneficial as it can be if people fail to adopt a good diet. By now, most people understand what makes up a balanced diet, and obviously, they should adhere to one if possible.

What doesn’t get as much attention is the fact that practicing better eating habits does so much for improving health. For example, simply avoiding eating when you’re not hungry is one way to stay in shape.

The CDC reminds people that there are “common triggers” that can encourage people to eat even when they’re not hungry. Merely seeing food or being offered something can trigger that desire to eat. Being stressed out or bored are seen as triggers as well. As much as possible, people should do what they can to avoid those triggers. Doing so allows people to stay on top of what they eat and keep unnecessary calories away.

Allergies Should Not Be Overlooked

People can exercise regularly; follow healthy eating habits, and still feel ill due to something commonly overlooked. Allergies affect millions of people, and the irritation and discomfort they bring can be difficult to deal with.

The Mayo Clinic says that doing things like keeping indoor air clean and minimizing exposure to allergens should help. Being wary of high pollen counts is also another way to make sure that allergies don’t get out of hand.

If allergies are still proving problematic, consulting with experts such as Dr. Summit Shah should help provide relief.

There’s no getting around it, achieving long-term good health is a daunting challenge. It’s not an impossible goal, however. Making specific lifestyle changes related to exercising, eating, and avoiding allergens will get people on the path to great health. Once adopted, all people need to do is to make those changes stick, and they’ll be set for life.

Slaske Builders Would Be The Best Construction Teachers

Teachers are more important today in our present time, now more than ever. The sad truth is that less and less people want to teach because there is a low ROI. Teachers are less valued and lesser paid occupation in America, but so much more important than nearly anything you can think of. We pay athletes to have fun and entertain us millions of dollars rather than the teachers who have taken us under their wing and shared priceless knowledge with us for years.

You don’t have to be in a school to find a teacher. You can find a teacher everywhere you are, but not everyone can be a teacher. Does that make sense? Teaching requires a special people skill called “patience” and another one called “understanding.” I’m sure at some point, we have all had that one teacher that shouldn’t be a teacher due to their lack of these two valuable traits and apparent anger issues.

I remember years ago, if you wanted to learn a trade, like dentistry or construction, someone who knew what they were doing would take you in and you’d work for peanuts. If you were to go to a building company like Slaske Builders and spoke with anyone of the employees looking for knowledge, they would take you in. Slaske Bulders is a company I’d be honored to work for if I had any interest in construction. Those guys know what they are doing and do a well good job. That’s the way it was years ago, perhaps in the 60’s. Today, you need a college education to even blow your nose correctly and the piece of paper that says, “I went to school for this so I am trained, but dead broke.”

Teachers back in those old times were passionate about their work. They had energy for teaching, but today it seems teachers grow irritable quickly and would rather be doing anything rather than teaching someone something that they believe they should already know. If we want a better job done, I believe it starts with better teachers who are more valued for their hard work.

Teach for Life

All our life we learn things that will be taught to our kids.  If they listen that knowledge will save them from hard learned mistakes that we learned the hard wayuntitled (111) untitled (110) It has been my experience that the young go out of their way to ignore the wisdom of their parents.  Why is it that the youth want to learn the hard way or they just don’t believe their parents.  I think wisdom is hard to teach, it must be learned from personal experience and the youth will need to make their own mistakes. Dana Sibilsky  learned from the school of hard knocks.

Improving Schools in Disadvantaged Districts Begins by Attracting Top-Level Teachers

One of the biggest questions facing the education system is the issue of convincing the best and brightest teachers to work in districts that are in the greatest need of outstanding teachers. The problem, of course, is that there is often little incentive to push established teachers out of comfortable roles without offering better financial compensation or some other incentive for leaving their current position. According to Luke Weil, one way to improve the quality of teaching in disadvantaged districts is to focus on placing outstanding future teachers there during their student teaching.

There have been several studies that have shown that most teachers will look to work in districts that are close to their hometown. That is, unless, they have done their student teaching in a disadvantaged district, in which case they are more likely to pursue a professional opportunity in a similar district. Exposing teachers to a rewarding opportunity where there is a greater need for their talents also helps in retention and ensures that the best teachers remain in the profession for many years to come.

A simple change in policy with regard to how student teachers are placed could help these educationally disadvantaged districts significantly, leveling the playing field for students across the country so that income and affluence does not have such a clear impact on educational opportunity. If student-teaching placement could be done with a greater focus on exposing teachers to these educational environments, the whole system could be improved as a result.

Teachers Pay Teachers

untitled (10)Teachers pay Teachers is a site that teachers can sell their ideas to other teachers. They have work sheets and flash cards that the teachers can print out and use in their classes.  This is a real help to teachers with pitiful incomes.  I have seen many of the unique worksheets and the kids love them.  It is important for teachers to keep the homework fun and educational.  Kids learn better when they are presented with fun work.  The real winner here is the kids.  Kids benefit from the best approach from the best teaches in the field.  If you are a teacher and need those kind of ideas in your class then go to teachers pay teachers today. Tonye Cole is a great teacher.
